We are wrapping up our unit on animals this week by reading the story, Animal Park. Which reminds me to tell you, animal habitat projects are due SEPTEMBER 22 (Thursday...I want a project from every student...even if it's late)!!! I'm excited to see all of the different animal projects!
I am sending the permission form for our field trip to Lee University's, "The Big Bad Wolf Tells All", tomorrow. Make sure you sign this and return it to me. There is no cost for this trip!
Here is a little glance at our week:
Reading: Our story this week is, Animal Park. Our reading comprehension skill is cause and effect and our phonics skill is short u and final blends. In grammar, we will be talking about what an "asking sentence" is and how we can identify that type of sentence.
Math: We are working on different subtraction strategies this week. Practice some "take away" stories at dinner this week. (You have 7 carrots on your plate. If you eat 3 carrots, you are taking them away. How many carrots are left on your plate?...food math is the best! :))
Science: Last week of animal habitats! We are loving learning about all kinds of different animals in their natural habitat.
Dates to look forward to:
September 22 Animal habitat projects due
September 28 Scholastic Book order due
September 29 Open House (6:00 - 7:30 p.m.)
September 30 Play at Lee University (The Big Bad Wolf)
As ALWAYS, please let me know if you have any questions! Have a FABULOUS week!!!
Love,
Ms. Meadors
