In our class, we have been talking about how to help others in need. We have talked about being a good friend and this week we are going to put this into action! OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD is in effect! I sent a letter home yesterday explaining what this service project requires. We will be collecting items to fill up shoe boxes for a little girl and a little boy. I need all of the items and money in by next Wednesday, November 16th. If you would rather send in a monetary donation to help with shipping, that is great too! Thanks in advance for everything!
We have a new student in our class! I would like to welcome Alexandra Cruz into our class of MARVELOUS STARS!!! She and her family have moved here from California.
I gave a "pre-spelling" test yesterday and your child should have brought this home in his/her folder. Our words this week are focused on the long e (e and ee)
We will be having a "Thanksgiving Feast" on November 22. Look for more information to come! :)
A glance at our week:
Reading:
We are reading the story, Honey Bees, this week. We are looking at the reading skill of compare and contrast this week. Our phonics skill is long e (e and ee) and syllables.
Math:
We are finishing up shapes this week. We have learned about plane and solid shapes.
We will have a MATH FACT QUIZ on Friday on "Adding 1". We have practiced in class and I would like for each student to practice his/her facts for a few minutes every night.
Dates to look forward to:
Nov. 14 - 18 Book Fair in the library
Nov. 22 Thanksgiving feast
Nov. 23 - 25 Thanksgiving break
