I loved seeing all of the wonderful animal projects come in last week! Everyone was also able to share about the animal they chose, why they chose that specific animal, and how they made their project. I was a very proud teacher!
This Friday is our field trip to the Mayfield Farm! Make sure that you send in the permission form and money ASAP! I need to make sure that we have enough money for our class to go on this trip. If you are chaperoning this trip, please look for more information about the trip later on this week in your child's folder.
Don't forget about our school FALL FESTIVAL this Friday from 5:30 - 7:30! What a fun Friday we're going to have!
If you are connected to Facebook, make sure to "like" the Yates Primary School PTO page. You can stay connected to all of the events that are taking place in our school.
I haven't completed the SCHOLASTIC BOOK ORDER yet so if you would like to order books for your child, you still have time! I am sending home a catalog and as always, you can order online at www.scholastic.com/bookclubs
My activation code is: GNPR9
or you can send in your book order with cash or check. I'm going to place the order tomorrow afternoon.
We have had TWO All-Star Champions that I have forgotten to mention in my blog but we didn't forget about them in our class! Nyziah Whaley and Nahomi Chavero were fantastic champions in our class and we loved getting to know them and their precious families even more! This week, Alan Velasquez is going to be our All-Star and we can't wait to learn more about him this week!
For the month of September, our school focused on the word RESPECT. I am fortunante to have a great class of respectful students! This past month, I was able to nominate Noah Harrell as the student for RESPECT in our classroom. I love the manners and leadership skills that Noah brings to our class. For October, our word to focus on is RESPONSIBILITY.
A message from Ms. Johnson, our school librarian:
"The library has purchased an online subscription to Bookflix from Scholastic, Inc., for our students. With Internet access, students can log on to the program at home to enjoy fiction and nonfiction books and games. Simply type in "Bookflix login" into your favorite search engine. The user name is "dpyates", and the password is "bookflix." This is just another option to boost reading skills."
News from the PTO:
1. The Literacy Night, originally set for Tuesday, October 2, is postponed until January. More information will come at a later date.
2. Our Fall Festival is Friday and we are pre-selling armbands for $5 per child until Thursday. Tickets purchased Friday will cost $8 per child. Attached is an armband order form in case parents lost the orginal flyer.
