I hope that you all enjoyed your Labor Day Weekend! We are back into full swing here at school!
Emma Williford is our fabulous All-Star Champion this week and we have already learned a lot about her and her family. We're excited to have her as our All-Star this week.
Reading groups are going to start tomorrow!!! Be looking for a Zip-loc bag to be coming home with your child every night (except Friday). Inside you'll find a book (on your child's level) and a piece of paper for you to sign saying that you have listened to your child read the book inside the bag. This is your child's nightly homework! Make sure it gets returned the very next day.
We are excited to be celebrating with our wonderful grandparents this Friday from 2:00 - 2:45. If you signed up to send in a snack or a drink, THANK YOU!!! We still need a few more crackers, cheese cubes, lemonade, tea, cups, napkins, and plates. If you can donate anything, we would truly appreciate it! Please send all items into school by Friday at the latest! (You can send in items before then as well.)
Here's the week at a glance:
Theme: Zoo animals
Spelling words: mom, hot, hop, pot, pop, ox, lock, mom, got, rock, help, use
Comprehension skill: Character and setting
Phonics: Short o and -s plurals
Grammar: We are continuing to work on naming parts of a sentence, action parts of a sentence, and sentence structure.
Math: We will continue practicing counting to 120, starting at any number less than 120 and read and write numerals and represent a number of objects with a written numeral. We will also be organizing, representing and interpreting data.
Science: Wild animals
As always, thanks for being amazing and supportive parents! If you need anything, send an e-mail or note my way!
Love,
Mrs. Hannah
